Dosing

Feng shui attempts to increase the positive influences and reduce the negative influences in a space. A feng shui practitioner uses a specialized compass (called a luopan) and a map of each space's energy (called a ba gua) to improve the flow of qi through a space. They use shapes, colors, textures, sound, light, and furniture arrangement to balance the flow of qi.

Many health concerns are thought to be due to an imbalance in qi. Too little qi is said to make a person feel tired, depressed, or unable to focus. Too much qi is said to make a person feel out of control, overly emotional, or anxious. The goal of feng shui is to correct these imbalances in qi to improve overall health.
